Where the boundary sits
Zip's documented scope runs intake → approval → PO issuance → invoice and AP handoff. Across its platform overview, intake, procure-to-pay, superagents and vendor management pages, there is no published capability for supplier acknowledgement, confirmed delivery dates, expediting, or date-slip management. Zip's vendor portal is for onboarding and master data, not order transactions.
Zip's own industry targeting — life sciences, financial services, technology, professional services — omits manufacturing and industrials, and its published customer base and proof points centre on indirect and services spend.
How Evolinq differs
Evolinq starts where Zip finishes. It takes the order the ERP has already committed to a supplier and runs the follow-up cycle: distribution, acknowledgement chasing, free-text reply interpretation, discrepancy flagging, and ERP write-back on confirmed dates.
A manufacturer can reasonably run both — Zip governing how a request becomes an order, Evolinq making sure the order becomes a delivered part.

When the alternative is the better choice
- If purchasing is happening in Slack threads and email with no governance, and the problem is capturing requests and routing approvals across departments, that is Zip's problem and Evolinq does not address any of it.
